Gary Gee Nung Wong is a partner with Hugill & Ip Solicitors, specialized in Corporate & Commercial. He was born and educated in the United States, graduating with honors from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School (BS in Econ Finance cum laude) and the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (Order of the Coif). He is qualified as a solicitor in Hong Kong and licensed to practice law in New York and Hawaii. Mr. Wong was previously with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom in New York, a partner with Blank Rome and with Oldham, Li and Nie in Hong Kong, and served as Chief Legal Counsel in Asia for a Fortune 100 company.
Mr. Wong has broad-based legal experience in the corporate and commercial sectors, focused especially on cross-border transactions, investments, joint ventures, licensing and distribution arrangements for multinationals, funds and individuals. He has worked extensively in the chemicals and energy areas, establishing and restructuring companies, joint ventures and operations throughout Asia and the Middle East. In advising clients, he seeks practical risk-assessed solutions.
Mr. Wong is committed to the arts and charitable causes. He currently serves as Chair of the Asian Fund for Cancer Research’s Council of Advisors. Prior to that, he was a longstanding member of AFCR’s Board of Directors and served as its Chairman for a decade.
